Chairman Coady and Selectman Salisbury had to be present at the second session of the Town Meeting. Selectman Guthrie, McEvoy and Joyce were present to conduct tm Selectmen,s meeting. The warrant and minutes were approved as submitted. FIRE CHIEF SALARY: After discussion, Selectman McEvoy motioned and Selectman Joyce seconded to vote the Board accept the salary schedule as presented by Selectman Salisbury by inserting proposed amounts in Article fo~ Fire Chief .... $21,000 for Fire Chief and future Police Chiefs. The present police chief will remain at this present salary and be ~glble for yearly raises. TRAFFIC SIONS: Residents of Heath road sent letter requesting traffic, safety signs be instslled on Heath P~i. for the protection of their children and pets. Letter referred to Chief Lawlor for his re- commendations. NEW FIRE STATION: Letter received from Acting Chief, James E. Fitzgerald, z~elated the reasons why a third fire station would be necessary in the very near future. Letter ~ms tabled until Nay 15, meeting, when all members will be present. Board requested Fire Chief be present to discuss request. P~PER STREETS: Letter from Planning Board re meeting on paper streets, May 1, at 7:00 p.m. Chairman Caady to attend, if possible, RECEIVED: Flood'Control questionaire. Referred to Brian Sullivan. Ceta requests from Thomas. J. Leavitt to replace positions being vacated. Referred to Brian S. Notice from the Division of Employment Security re Fire Chief's exam. Referred to Brian S. Notice of Trombly Notor Coach hearing, May 19, 1978, at 10 a.m., 100 Cambridge St., Boston, Ma LICenSING C0;~SSIONERS: Tabled from last week: Application for a Restaurant, ~ &lcoholic license from Nelinda d~/a Crystal ~uor, 80 Chickering Rd., N.A. formerly Patti's Yellow ~ibbom. Hearing was set for May 8, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. To-be advertised, abutters notified. Board made a motion, seconded, to recess the Selectmen's meeting~$~ attend ?o/ma ~[eeting. ~lice N. The minutes and ~mrrant were approved as submitted. TRAFFIC 'AGREEN~NT: Joseph D'Angelo could not be present to discuss the sub~$ctl mmtter of the Tr~ffic Control Agreement. Jay ~i21is was present to state his objections to certain sections of the Chairman Coady read each segment of the Agreement and checked off portions that were not in the best interests of the town. The Board voted to send a letter to Mr. Tierney listing the "concerns,, of the and requesting a meeting as soon as possible with a representative of the PAPER STREETS: Selectman Salisbury stated that there ~ras some confusion as to the termination of "paper stre~~ After some discussion, ~ha Board voted to have Selectman Salisbury represent the Board in the matter of the building of streets called, "paper streets." TRAFFIC SIGNS: Two requests received to be referred to Chief Lawlor for his recommendations: No ~a.rk~ng on Prescott ~Street, between Chickering Rd. and Osgood Streets. Stop Sign at the intersection of Andover Street and Osgoed Streets. CLARK STREE2 GATE: Letter from To~m Counsel advised the Board that the street should go through To~en Meeting ac- tion to change the street from a public way to a private way. Board voted to send letter to Borden Chemical stating that it was the Board's intention to follow To~,n Counsel's advice. BUCHANAN CO~;~INT: Letter from Mrs. Vera Buchanan stated that the road was better but the trash had yet to be cleaned up from the construction of Scott Fellonsby. Board voted to ~equest a report from the Building Inspector. CABLE TV REPORT: The Cable TV Report was offered for the Board's study at this meeting. It was voted to have a meeting with the Cable TV Committee on Monday, May 15, at 6:45 p.m. and a public hearing on May 22, 1978. Brian St. stated that the Selectmen should advertise for bids within 3 weeks.
