DOG NOISE NUISANCE:
A hearing was held on a petition si~nea by six residents 6~J[~gston Street
re the continuous barking of cwo dogs owned by Dorothy Bonnacurso,.66 King,-
Con Street. Let=ers received from two of =he peri=loners advised,the Board
that =hey had withdrawn =heir names from the complaint peri=ion because,,the
dogs were no longer barking and =hey were no longer a problem. Aletter,~re-.
ceived from t~e police department stated that =hey had investigated the
problem at the request of the Selectmen. They .in=erview~d the complainants,
Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Lane and Mrs. iTrainer who all stared thesame thinK, ,.

stated Chat the dogs are still a nuisance with their barking. Talking to
Hrs. Bonnacurso, =heys=ated she had done and is doing all she could re

could and kept them-inside when she couldn't. The only ~time .they~bar, ked,~
was when someone they didn't know came near ~he fence. The police concluded
in =heir letter that, from what they had observed,, they could-find'no ~eas0n
for =he complaint brough= against =hess dogs aC' this time.and it.seemed, Chat
four out of the seven, complainants agreed with this concl~sion..Repo~

received from =he Gr.. Boston Police Council in regard to Cruiser,:Purchasi~g

Mrs, Grasso appeared befomthe Boarg to discuss the ins=alia=ion of a yellow
safety light on Nasa. Ave. for =he A=kinson School children. J~.Outhrie
motioned that =he Selectmen vote =heir intent to hold a Special Town Meeting
on November $=h to raise funds for installation of the light and that Brian S.
contac= the DF6 on State's commi==mont to reimburse the town. C. Salisbury
seconded. Vote: 3-No 2-Yes. Motion defeated. Mrs. Grasso was advised
that if she secured 200 signatures on a peri=ion for a Special Town Meeting
the Selectmen were obliged to call a Special Town Meeting, On Mr, Guthrie's
mO=ion; Selectman Salisbury made another motion that the Board endorse this
article at the next Town Meeting, Vote was unanimous,

Discussion ensued as to the pros and cons on r~moving the chief"s positions
from Civil Service, J, Guthrie stated that he thought the police and fire
chiefs would have ample protection to enter ~n=o a contract with Town instead
of going through ~ivil Service, He would like to present an Article at next
Town Meeting co let Town determine the question whether or not to re=sin ~,S,
for police.and fire chief positions, He said there were enough checks and

S~lectman Guthrie stated chat a decision has to be mede and mede a
motion: to: confirm the action that we withdraw the appointment of' Donald
Fountain. Selectman Graham. seconded, vote unanimous. Selectman Joyce
stated that Bill Iminski had indicated that he would take the Acting
Fire Chi~efts Job. He was asked to celeph'on~Iminiski to co~e in for an

The base pay of a Lieutenant was only $1200 less than the Chief

At interview, Lt. Iminiski accepted the position. At 1:30 a.m; Tuesday
Lt. Iminski telephone the Chairman to state chat he had changed his min~,
that he withdrew his acceptance ofthe position.
~NICIPAL DISCLOSURE LAW:
Letter received from t~e State Ethics Commission stating there would be
public hearinis on munK pal disclosure proposal. The Board voted that all
membars, meke every effort to attend these hearings to show their disapproval
and ob~ection to the proposed municipal disclosure law.
FUEL CONSERVATION:
Letter received from Governor King re fuel conservation. Board voted to
request Brian S. to report on October 22nd on any action that has been take
