LICENSING COMMISSIONERS: '" Approved: Application for renewal of Class II license for Charle's A. Buch- JANUARY 2, 1980 The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on hhis date wi~"all ' members present; Selectmen Guthrie, Salisbury, Joyce, Graham with Chairman McEvoy presiding. The warrant and minutes were approved as submittedr. REORGANIZATION OF BOARD: Chairman McEvoy requested the Senior member of the Board; Joseph Gu~hrie, to preside over the appointment of the Chairman of the Selectmen andLicensing Commisstoners...Clerk of both Boards also to'be aopointed. Selectman Joyee nominated T. McEvoy, seconded by Selectman Graham. Selectman Guthrie.nomin- aced Charles Salisbury stating that, tn his opinion, new members ~f the Board should be dra~ into the important position of Chairman. There was no second. Vote by ballot was as follows: Selectmen: Chairman - Thomas J. McEvoy (3 votes-McEvoy, Joyce, Graham. Guthrie abstained, Salisbury~ ~s~ained. Clerk.~ - Charles A. Salisbury-(~5' votes) ........... Licensing: Chairman - Ralph R. f,.yee ( 5 votes) Clerk - Charles A. Salisbury ($ votes) OPh~ SPACE AND RECREATION PLAN: ,., Brian Sullivan reco~ended that B~I be omitted and keep B-2. It was an' unanimous votedto accept plan as recommended and to set up hearings for January 16 and 29th. NAMING OF TOWN STREETS: Letter from Town Counsel stated that the Selectmen were responsible. for ~the naming of Town Streets. It was voted to changet~e Archdiocese housing street .name from Woodridge Road to Woodridge Drive (4-1 vote) and to ;~nottfy Atty. Dolan of the change of name. It~was also voted to write to Planning. Board. advising them that it.was the Selecmuen's intent to assume responsibility for naming of streets and, when a street is to be named, PlanningBoard iS-' to send ~heir recommendations to the Selectuuen. Unanimous vote. STREET SI~N INSTALLATIONS: Brian S. stated that there was a problem about the installation of:street signs. Highway Surveyor would take it over but he didn't have thefunds to do it. He suggested that the Selectmen, Highway Surveyor and Advisory'Board meet to discuss and resolve the problem. Joseph D'Angelo, State~Engineer, who was present, recommended that the Highway Surveyor be given the funds to purchase the signs and ~a~tall them as directed and recommended by the Police Chief and Selectmen. Presently, the Police Chief is buying the signs. The'? vote was unanimous. COUNCIL ON AGING: It was voted to send out letters to the members of the Council On Aging " asking if they were interested fn being Chairman of 'same. PROCLAMATION: ':: ~'"' ' It was voted to authorize the Chairman to sign a proclamation proclaiming. the Month of January-Marchof Dimes Birth Defects Prevention Month..~ Preemployment Physicals: ', : It was voted to have doctors in North Andover contacted to see if they were interested if giving physicals to future employees of the Town.
