COMMUNITY CENTERRENOVATION CONTRACT: " 'The Board voted tow rite letter to A1 Laurent, Laurent Construction Co. that it was their intent to award the above-named contract to the Laurent Construction Company. INVITATION: I~vitation received to Open HOuse, Health Center, Inc. November 6th from the Gr. Lawrence · CETATRAINING CENTER: %etter received from CE'fA re future Jobs for 15 to 18 yr. old youths. The Board voted to send copies to the Highway, Public Works and Tree department~ for'their recomendations and suggestions. .. .. . WARRANT,CLOSING: ' The Board voted to close the warrant for the Special Town Meptin~ to be ;.' held-,on November 24, 1980, at 7:00 P.M. Selectmen will convene for a brief Selec~men's meeting at 6:30 P.M..prior to the S.T.M. AI~TICLES: The Selectmen reviewed the articles prior to accepting them for the warrant Several.small business owaers wer~ present to discuss the trash pick-up .articles~aone submitted by the Selectmen and Highway Surveyor and another article submitted by Joseph Giard and others. After a discussion, it was voted 3-2 to change the Selectmon's ar=icl~, sectio~ "not'morerhan eight, 30 gallon barrels per week......It was a~so votec=eo cha~e_the;w~r~,.i,!.~w.O~L, and sus=i~ute'the%~word, "four" or more businesses.. a~ to make the e~tive-~te ofthis amendment to the General By-Laws seyen (7) days after-its enactment and its approval b~ the Attorney General in~tead of sixty (60) days. Twelve Articles were approved'by the Select- men for insertion ~dto the Warrant; It was also voted to contact School Committeeman, Mark DiSalvo and Connie Connors to discuss Article 3 which would raise $12,000 for the purpose of sponsorins a'comprehensive drug treatment, prevention and counseling services under the direction of Gr. Lawrence Outreach, .Inc. This article had been defeated at the last annual Town Meeting. School Committee re-submitted the article. LICENSING COMMISSIONERS: ApprOved: 1-day liquor license, November 8th, for Nu Phi Kappa Parent's night at Merrimack College. 1-day liquor license, November 12th, for New England Councilor~s .Association meeting, from'Paul Eaton, Dean of Admission Office, Merrimack College.
