Development'"for approval. .r UKBAN SYSTEMS PROJECT EXTENSION: " "The Selectmen approved letter to be sent to the-District Highway Engineer requesting that the limits of the existing Project Area, 'designated'under the .HUD Comprehensive Community Development Black'Grant, be extended approximately 850 feet in a southerly direction to include the-Waverly Road intersection, to continue to the Ma~n/Sutton Project Area. The Town'has access, to additional · funds for desisnwork'and a?porti~n of..the- funds is dosisnated for traffic · improvements. .-.. RESIGNATION:' ~'copy of a letter sent ~'o the Planning Board received.' It contained the resignation of Vincent Turano from the Planning Board,'e~k~ctive September 1, 1981. No reason given. Vacancy will be advertised and applicants will be interviewed and appointed Jointly by the Selectmen and Planning Board. STP, EL'fLIGHT R~QUEST: Connie Connote appeared before the Board to request that the street light in front of her house be reactivated. She stated that the light Was installed originally at the request, of'the police department becnuse of continuous vandalism and'-violence in the area. That the'many young'-chi~dren are in danger of vehicles, especially in the%winter'time when'it is dark at ~ p.M. Mrs. Connors~also 'stated that the s~reet lights~sho~ldn't be turned o~f in ~he'Town, that':th~ ~es'idente..'ehould-~have-the protection'of lighted 'streets, ~het"money should'b~'-'saved"in-'another-way; Mrs;"Connors was advised that,' due to'theAdvisory Board decreased appropr~at~on~ certain'street lights . to be taken out..;that the Selectmen'are'making a survey of the street lights all-over Town~with the intention'to redistribute the's~reet lights~' Some streets have too many l~ghts and some"streets do.not have any. She. statedthat people would help on the street ~i~ht'~survey,;if they are.being distributed, than critical areas need not be in darkness; Selectm~nDi~ruscio motioned to have aSpecial Town Meeting to raise ~oney to fund the'.replace= ment of .street lights. After further discussion, it was voted to reactivate the*street light .in-front.~of 65 Brightwood Ave. - S~NIOR CENTE~:' Gayton Os~ood appeared before the Board to discuss proposed sites for the SeniorCenter. After a short discussion,-'it'was .voted to have Gayton set up a meeting for Wednesday, Au~ust.19th. Present.will 'be the Selectmen, George (~uss) Moran.~'Director of the Elder Servicesfof the Merrimack Valley~and:Chai~an of.the Council On Aging. Hopefully~ at this meeting the site will be~doter~lned. -'-- ASSESSMENT COmmITTEE: Chaimn Grahamv~tated that the Town.u st get involved with the Hazardous Waste facility in Haverhill';' that*'Haverhillmust' have imput of NOrth'"Andover~s feelings on the facility. Adm. Brian Sullivan advised the Board that the Fire Chief, Dennis Curr~er~is currently participating[indiscussions' in Haverhill.' After further discussion as'to the urgency 'fo[ the Local Assess- /merit Committee to meet, it was 'voted to'have~Ch~irman Graham'contact Phila Sla~e re setting up a meeting'of,;~e Commi~tee.
