McE~/o~' this date with all members present: Selectmen 'Christine M, Smith with Chairman Charles A, Salisbury presiding, The warrant was approved as submitted. MVPC'S ECONOMIC EVELOPMENT PROGRAM; The Board voted unanimously to approve the above-named program and so authorized the Chairman to execute same, INSURANCE CONSULTANT: The Board discussed the the recommendation of the Executive Secretary regarding the submission of an Article in the annual Town Meeting in the amount of $4, 000 to hire an insurance consultant, Selectman Smith made a motion to accept the Executive Secretar~/,s recommenH~,~,~ .... · : ....... lne mo:ion was amended by Selectman McEvoy to tame the amount to $7, 000 to insure a capable consultant. The vote was unanimous to have the amount of $7,000 in the Article. Selectman Smith also requested that Town Counsel be cognizant of What our Town Insurance covered in the future. TRAFFIC SIGN REQUEST: Letter received from S.M. Taylor of Duncan Drive requested a "Go Slow-Children, sign be installed on Duncan Drive as there were approximately 30 children residing on the street. T~'*was voted unanimously to refer the request to. the Police Chief for his recommendation. RT. IIq COMPLAINT: Letter received from Helen M. Kellner, 920 Turnpike Street citing problems she had ~'ith the Rt. 114 highway improvements. The Board voted to refer the lettert.to Dist. rict Highway, Engineer, Sherman Eidleman, and to include in the letter their appreciation for the n&'w improvements the State had made on Rt. Ilq. . CAPI.___TAL BUDGET COMMITTEE APPT,: The Board unanimously voted to appoint Robert J, Sechrist, 146 Middlesex Street,-a member of the Capital Budget Committee. N. A, WOMEN'S CLUB REQUEST: Letter from the above-named requested that they'be allowed to have their meetings in the new Senior Center when completed. There would be five meetings a year. The Board voted to adopt John Bohenko~s recommendation that the Selectmen invite the Council On Aging to its December 19th meeting to discuss a policy to be followed re the rental of the Senior Center for outside groups. BUD CYR - UNIFORM FUNDING: Bud Cyr requested the Selectmen prov,de him with the funding for the uniforms of his 'men as per settlement with the Public Works Union. Selectman McEvoy made a motion to deny his request and the vote was q-1. Salisbury against motion. ALL NIGHT PARKING BAN: The Boa;rd approved the advertising of the All Night Parking Ban ~hich will become effective at midnite, December I, 1983 .... N. A. HOUSING AUTHORITY CONTRACT: The Board unanimously approved the above-namedcont.ract and authorized the Chairman to sign same. LICENSES APPROVED: McDonald'a Restaurant - Common Victualer. Merrimack College and Royal Crest Estates Club ' House - I-c~ay liquor licenses for Christmas Party, Dec. 3rd , at Merrimack College and a New Year's Eve party, Dec. 31, at Royal crest. GRIEVANCES: Voted to go into Executive Session. ACCESS ROAD - DAVIS S FURBER: Traffic engineers, Rick Domas, C.D. Director and others met with the Board to discuss the pros and cons of a proposed access road that will be needed for the Davis & Furber offices, to take care of the traffic increase expected. The Sutton Street railroad crossing impact, trip distribution, the Rt. 125 connection were discussed. After an hour and a half, the Board requested the C. D. Director, Rick Domas, to meet and coordinate all information with the Police and Fire Chiefs, School Committee and the Highway Dept. This information, which will guide the Selectmen in selecting specific access roads to be developed, should be ready for the Selectmen's packet on Friday. Hopefully, a decision will be reached for Monday's work session. CHRISTMAS DECORATION COMMITTEE: Selectman Christine Smith stated that ~he would like to publicly thank the members of the committee for a job well done. Alice M.
