Mr. Lynch said he would end that he would in- form other interested residents of impending meeting. Mr. Fimckmade such motion, seconded by Mr. S~tcliffe, and voted unanimously, that foregoing persons would be requested to attend the next meeting at 7:30 p.m. R~O~AL OF TREES: Mr. William Somerville, 91 Chadwick Street, requested the Selectmen for the removal of three trees in order to build a driveway. Upon motion of Mr. Sutcliffe, seconded by Mr. Finck, matter was referred to the Tree Warded unenimously. He also re- quested a lighting survey of Chadwick, which was motioned by Mr. Satcliffe, seconded by Mr. Finck, and voted unanimously. He stated that he believed that a building permit was not issued for a beauty parlor which was in operation in his neighbor- hood. The Board ~oted that the Building Inspector would be expected to report on ssme ~hen he attends the next meeting. COMPLAINT: Linden Avenue Mr. Francis Gillick of Linden Avenue complained to the Board that Mr. Anthony Marino, contractor of houses being built on Gr. Oak Street, has not straightened out the difficulties caused Mr. Gillick by water draining on his property. Mr.. Finck motioned that Mr. Marino and the engineer of the project, Mr. A. Torrissi, be re- quested to explain the situation at the next meeting of the Board at 8:00 p.m. It was seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unenimously. MASS. DEPT. ~F PUBLIC WORKS: T~affic Control Signals A letter was received from the Dept. of Public Works in reply to our letter relative to the proposed traffic signal installation at the intersection of Great Pond Road and Osgood Street. Mr. Ftnck said that he believed further inquiry should be made to ascertain whether or not traffic lights will be installed upon the widening of Osgoud Street end also to request the installation of traffic signals at the corner of Osgood and Satton Streets. Mr. Finck motioned same, seconded by Mr. Butcl~_ffe end voted unanimously. . GAS EXCAVATION: Brightwood Avenue Permission was given to the Lawrence Gas Company upon motion of Mr. Finck, secondedi' by.~Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously, to excavate approximately 200 feet along Brightwood Avenue from the corner of Furber Avenue to install a gas main and gas servzce. NERRIMACK-ESSEXELECTRIC COMPANY: Letter was received from Merrimack-Essex Electric Company regarding street light- ing survey in the vicinity of 469 Boston Street and suggesting the installation o~ a 3500 lumen mercury vapor light. Mr. Sutcliffe motioned it be approved, seconded: by Mr. Finck and voted unanimously. ANDOVER BOARD OF SE~ECTM~N: ~ .~ ~, A letter was received from the Andover Board of Selectmen soliciting endorsement of the citizens of No. Andover to petition the General Court of Massachusetts to call a Constitutional Convention in 1962 for modernization of state and county government administrative and tax structures in order to accomplish more efficient operation and reduced costs. Mr. Finck motioned it be tabled for one week seconded by Mr. Satcliffe, and voted unanimously. -' ~ CIVIL DEFENSE: A letter was received from Civil Defense Director Dyer regarding a new regulation concerning the acquisition of commmnications equipment. This regulation would necessitate paying the entire purchase price of items with a reimbursement from Federal Civil Defense Agency for 50 per cent of the cost received five or six weeks after. Matter was referred to Town Counsel as to its legality upon motion of Fr. Finck, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously. QUESTIONNAIRE - Mass. Div. of Industrial Accidents: Mr. Finck motioned that the chairman fill out the questionnaire received from the Massachusetts Division of Industrial Accidents, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously. Y.W.C.A.: An invitation was received by the chairman from the Y.W.C.A. to attend an open meet- ing at the Y.W.C.A. on May 3rd at ~hich time there will be a keynote speaker and a panel presentation on Urban Renewal and Development. Mr. Finck motioned that Chair- man Finneran attend, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously.
