He in turn has contacted Ralph Brasseur who checked the area with Walter Stamp, Foreman. No report has been received to this date from Mr. Salisbury or Mr. Brasseur. Upon motion of Mr. Finck, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m. ( CET ) June 5, 1961 The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with all members present and Chairman Plnneran presiding. The meeting %ms called to order at 7:30 p.m. HEARING: Tree Removal Petition Mr.. John Conners, Tree Warden. was present at this hearing for removal of tree which' was petitioned by Richard Shellnut, 112 South Bradford Street. Mr. Counors recom- mended said tree be removed and which had been properly posted. Mr. Finck motioned the tree be removed, seconded by Nr. Sutcliffe? and voted unanimously. M.EARING: GasoLine Storage A hearing was held on a petition~ for storage of gasoline at Brooks School for faculty garages. Capacity will be manufacturer's standard for each car garaged. Mr. Finck motioned lic~se be granted, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously. TREE R~{0VAL PETITION: Petition was submitted by the Tree Warden for Joseph S. Durso, 20 Ferry Street, Haverhill, Massachusetts, for removal of one tree on Main Street and t~ on First .Street.; Hearing was set upon motion of Mr. Finck, seconded by Mr. Satcliffe, and voted unanimously, for June 12, 1961, at 7:30 p.m. MERK[MACK-ESSEX ,~.ECTRIC COMPANY: A letter was received from Merrimack-Essex Electric Company regarding street light- ing surveis. Their recommendations, which are as follows, were approved unanimously upon motion of Mr. Finck, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe: Installation of a 3500 lumen mercury vapor light at 114 Middlesex Street, to replace the existing 1000 light; installation of a 7000 lumen light on pole 4602 in the vicinity of 324 Hillside Road; and installation of a 3500 lumen light on pole 85? in the vicinity of 57 Furber ivenue to replace a lO00 lumen unit. BOARD OF APPEALS: A notice of a Board, of Appeals hearing to be held on J~ne 12, 196t, was received and placed on file. LETTER C~ COMMENDATION: Mass. Safety Officers League A letter of commendation and notification of the election of Safety Officer FrankDushame of our police department as a member of the Board of Directors of the aforementioned League was received by this Board. DINER PROBL~: Mr. Sutcliffe stated that the problem of the diner being parked on 0sgood Street at the intersection of Great Pond Road still exist~ and that he had been under the impression that when road ~ridening proceedings had beEur~ that it would be removed by the owner.~ .He stated that the Board should demand that the lunch wagon be re- moved and ToE Counsel notified to take action to remove the diner from the loca- tion. 'Mr.. Finck amended the motion "that the Town Counsel be 'directed'". The motion thus was as follows: 'That To~m Counsel be directed to proceed with the necessary action to procure the removal of the diner as speedily as possible. It was seconded by Mr. Finck aad voted unanimously. Upon motion of Mr. Sutcliffe, seconded by Mr. adjourn the Selec~men's Meeting at 7:45 p.m., Commission met. Finck, it was ~ted unanimously to after which time the Licensing The meeting was reopened to set up a hearing for June 12, 1961, at 7:30 p.m. on the petition of Harold Conner for storage of bottled gas at Middlesex Street.
