Mr. Colem~m, complainent with the Allens, suggested that, at no cost to the ski tow, he would Pronure~ound-measuring equipment to test the volume of the offending noise, before and after the new compressor is put to service. Mr. Livesey, Mr. Allen and the selectmen agreed that this seemed to be a good solution: to have a noise vol- ume norm as a guide if the problem comes up again. The Board requested a copy of the result of the sound check. Also in connection with the ski-tow, and its parking problems, Mr. stated that the situation had improved somewhat since the matter was brought up last week. Those parking under the '~o Parking" signs are prOmPtly .chased by police on duty. Selectmen Sutcliffe suggested the State Department of Public Works be asked to post the area on both z sides with signs warning drivers to slow down because of the pedestrian cross-walk, traffic congestion and the ski tow. The motion was carried unanimously. REQUESTS FOR STREET LIGHTING: Dr. A. R. Centarino, of Hillside Rd, requested adequate street lighting be provided at the corner of that road and Boston Street near the North An~ ver-Andover line. Also street lighting was requested at Wentworth Avenue and a survey is to be made by the Merrimmack-EssE Electric Cempan7. MASSACHUSETTS TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE: The Board will make every effort to attend the meeting of February 13, 1962. The Board was invited to the annual Washington's Birthday reception by the Governor a~ lOa.m. in the Hall of Flags at the State House. Set for February 26th on a petition by the electric company to install 3 poles in the ~avis Street~ extension-East Water street vicinity. The regular meeting cf the Board of Selectmen was held on this date at 7:30 P.M. with all members present, Chairman Finneran presiding, ':'~ Snow emergency declared at 1:00 P.M., February 19, 1962 by the Board of Selectmen upon request of Ira Carry, Highway Superintendent. Hearing: 7:30 P.M. , Permission was granted unanimously ~o the New ~hgland Tel. & Tel. Co. together with the Merrimack-Essex Electric Company to'place e pole for their Joint use on Patriot Street, near Francis Street. '~d Main Street was approved by the Board end the light company was instructed to perform the installations. Electric Light officials asked the boer~ to notify them in advance of the granting of house moving permits so the company could survey the proposed route and make recommendations. They also suggested that the expense involved in manpower, time, and equipment spent to accomodate a house moving should be horned by the mover instead of the company, as is now the case. This extra service, they added, which benefits only the o~mer and mover, is now being b~rma~ indirectly by ~h~.r customers, in power rates. Hearing for February 26th at 7:30 P.M. was set requesting a representative of the light com~- any to appear before the hoard to further pursue the matter of house moving problems.
