E. MALLORY: Mr. Mallary appeared before the Board with suggestions that if more brush were cut down from 'the edge of the Salem Street area (from the cometary to Millers House) motorist's visibility would much better~ and accidents averted. Re also said if Becky's small pond were widened with flood lights installed with a push-button that children could operate and an automatics shut-off at night it would make a very good recreation ice-skating area for the children of North Andover. Oakes and Chairman William FIRE STATIC~ The Board voted to reactivate the Fire Station Committee upon request of Chairman, Dana Fisher:. They are as follows:~' Dana Fisher, Chairman; Sidney B. REQUEST FOR STREET I~G~TING: ?sachusetts Electric Company was requested to make a survey for possible street lighting in ont of the home of John D. Tine, 5~ Danan Street. The Board also voted to accept the street ght survey for a 3500 lumen mercury vapor light On pole #2786 at the intersection of Faruum ~aed S~m~er~ Streets. A notice was received of installation of l~ghts at Beverly. Street-- ~ i Daniel l~g, 32 Parber Avenue, was drawo for Jury dut~r in Superior (Civil) Court at Salem on November. ~, 1962. ; TO~N 00~NSEL SALISBURY: ~T S~ST~ AND TO~N PROJECT Mr. Salisbury was voted a letter requesting whether the ~ighway Dept. would have to wait for a ~ town meeting in order2to proceed with the hot-topping of Greene, Prescott,anti'the rest Street frommoney donated by the State Dept. of Pablic Works. NORTH ANDO~ER'AD~SORI BOARD: Re: Traffic lines on Great Pond Road. Notice was received from the Advisory Board that the amount necessary ($260.00) for the painting of the trefficl~nes on-Oreat ~ond Road. The expense was transferred from the Reserve Fund to Police Dept. ExpenseE. SSAC~SETTS ELECTRIC OC~PAN~: ~Notification was received by the Board that shtreet Lights could be removed from the Route 49~. area (Beverly, Suffolk, Perry , Beechwood and Bruce Streets) and would be a saving for the town of $108. per year. More removals will be possible as .construction progeesses. NOR~ ANDOVER BUSINESS ASSOCIATES: M. George Norwood, John B. Russell and Robert S. Kearege, secretary of M.A.B.A. announced that they would donate-lO rubbish receptacles to the town to be maintained by them and properly to posts along the street. This move is for a cleaner, more amnitary town and to discourage "ltt~ter-bugging ". LETTER .C~ COMMENDATION: Letters of praise and commendation were voted to be sent by the Board to the fire department, highway department and department of public works for 'their untiring and ceaseless efforts to save oil burners and heavier damage to cellars flooded by water arising f~om the severe North- east storm.
