MacWilliams, 485 Maple Street, Danvers, Mass. to request $60,000. for Chapter 90 construction work for the year, 1963. The town intends to continue the work on Salem Street and this amount ocmbined with ~he $40,000. that will be en- cumbered from the year, 1962, will enable the town to complete the Salem Street project. This amount is necessary to ef. fectively continue the project because of a costly culvert installation at Boston Brook. $3.000. in Chapter 90 maintenance was also requested by the Board. STOP SIGNS: Once again. Forms T-57 showing locations of isolated Stop Signs~ for Second Street and Maple Pleasant and Davis Streets and Dale and Appleton Streets were forwarded to B.B. Twombly, Traffic Division, 100 Nashua St., Boston, Mass. The letter expressed the hope that no more delay ensue before installation of these traffiC~stop signs. SEASGIAL WORKERS: - The following list of seasonal workers, wasesent to Essex ~cUngy Treasurer, Mr. Thomas F. Duffy, to be removed from the Treasurer's report: All are members of the Playground activity in the s~m~er: Eathleen Scanlon, Elizabeth Stillwe21, David Roberts, Carol Thlbault, Robert Nurphy, Jane Phelan, Stephen Letarte, Barbara Low, William Robinson, Geyle Sanborn, Robert Parker, Steele, -Bruce Allen, Linda Shea, and Richard Moynihan. Chairman Finneran announced that the appointment of a town accountant would be made at ~this ,to replace .Nary T. Finn, present town accountant, ~ho i2.~;~stiring at the age of 70 October 31, 196 He:announced that Niss Gladys Vanderbtlt, 22 Dana Street, had withdrawn her the ,osition. The three candidates remaining were Rose S. McEvoy, 28 Second Street, Street and David F. Roche, 90 Second Street. Salectman Fred P. Cakes then.~nominated .~ Mr. David Roche for the position stating Mr. Roche was the only accountant to apply for the ii.L and theBuard feels that the position of town accountant~ 'sho~ be filled ~:~an~accountant. The nominatien':was seconded ~by Mr.'Raymond Broadhead and made unanimous by Chairman William A. Ftnneran. .They also announced ~Mrs, Celia ~eehan to be employed as his assistant, the present position she now' holds'in the Town :ountant' s office. LAWRENCE GAS 0~PANY: ~ssion to excavate at 151 S~tton Rill Road:, Wentworth A~e~Inglewood Street and Prescott ~ was 'granted by the Board to the above-named company. 11:: Announcement was made via a memorandum by Maj. Gen. Joh J. Maginnis in reference to licenses for Shelters and the Board referred the matter to Civil Defense Director, Dewey Dyer. INVITATIONS: Invitations were received by the North Essex Council of Boy Scouts to attend a semin~a~.~ on Oct. The Selectmen regretted they were unable to attend because of their weekly meeting. The Mass. Dept. of Public Works also sent invitations to the 4th Highway Conference which was. re- '.ferred to WalterStamp, foreman of the Highway Dept. " TO~N REPORT: Mr. Floyd Judd and Town Clerk, John J. Lyons met with the Selectmen to discuss at length possible revision and up-dating of the Town Report. They all agreed it would be much more palatable, edit- orily, if were more of a pictorial report. Each department will be asked to submit a picture of interest and the art departmant of the High School will be contacted for assistancelin making this coming years Annual Report a much more interesting and readable document. MASSACH1~SETTS ELECTRIC CC~PAN¥: The above-named company was asked to conduct a survey for possible street lighting on Water Street, Bixby Avenue and near the playground at the corner of Clarendon Street.
