Oaken, Rs2mond Broadhead and Chairman William A. Finneran, presiding. MASSA~USETTS ELECTRIC CO.: Notice was received by the Selectmen that lights had been installed on poles on Johnson,street, Waverley Road and Sutton Hill Rd. NOTICES: Annual Governor's conference on State, County and Municipal Relations, June ltl, 19,Univ. of Mass. Division of Civil Service announcing Welfare Department Workers pay raises. Sixth meeting of the Regional District Nigh School~ EssexPeSttcide Board of the Dept. of Public Health referred to Leo Lafond, Tree Wardefi~. County Retirement B card announcing retirement cf highWay employee, Henry VanderkerkovI GAS FEES AM~: Notice received by the Town Clerk stated that the town by-law for collections of gas fees had been approved by the Attorney General. Notice was given Town Counsel. GREAT POND ROAD: Chief Lawlor was requested to include Great Pond R cad in his speed survey. NO~E RULE BILL: 1384 The Selectmen agreed to send telegrams to representatives urging them to support the Home Rule Bill, 1384, schadul~d for consideration at constitutional convention June 11, 1963..Telegrams -were sene to Representatives Petteruto, ~illiams, Longwerth .and Senator. Rurak and Governor Pea- body. MARIC~ BAT~EDDER: Miss Marion Matchelder, retiring~Head Librarian of many years, was tendered a reception on June 9, 1963 and was presented~a pla~que of recognition and appreciation by Chairman Fi/moran behalf of the-Board of S61ectmen. Many other gifts were received by Flss Batchelder at the house in her honor. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Alice M. Letarte, Secretary. SUMM~ SCHEDULE: Selectmen v~ted to follow the usual custom of summer schedule with Selectmen ~s meetings to ~held every other week afte~ June 17th meeting. The next meeting will be on July 1, 1963. C~ITRAL M~I~OK VALLEY PLANNING DISTRICT: Notice was received of officers elected for above-named Boazd. DEPARTMENT 0F-PUbLIC WORKS: Invitation to conference on ~rb~n transportation, July 1, 1963, in Albany, N.$. MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRIC CO: Recommendations were received from the electric company for installation of lights on Elmcrest Ed. amd the intersection cf Woodbridge Road and Greene Street. The ~oard voted to so approve. The Board also votad-to have a surve~ conducted by the company cf improved street lighting from the corner of. Elm &.Water Streets, Main Street to Sutton's Corner and to take into consideration the possibility of underground wiring of same. LACET ~OMPLAINT: Mr. Thomas Lacey sent a letter of complaint regarding the yard conditions of Sweeney's Fences Inc. on Sutton Street and enclosed letters ~sent to Building Inspector Foster amd Atty. Ravich. Mr. Charles F oster was requested to amswer said letter amd appear before the B card to discuss a possible solution to the complaint at the Selectmem,s Meeting on Monday, July 1, 1963.
