TREE REMOVAL: A request for s tree removal hearing from Romeo Legare, corner Magnolia Drive and Main Street, was granted :and set for a tempor, ary meeting (Monday, regular meeting date will fall on Labor Day) on Friday, Augnst 30, 1963, at ~:45 p.m. -' Chosen :for Jury Duty was Lewis F. Zieba, 57 Beverly Street, for Superior Criminal Court, Lawrence on September 16, 1963. NE~ ~GLA~D~ TEL. & TEL. C0.: The Board approvad relocations of 15 poles on Salem Street, Joint locations of the telephone electric companies. - Also' on Great pond Rd. MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRIC .CO.: The Board voted to have street lighting installed in the vicinity of the Pellegrino residence, Pleasant Street and requested a survey be made for same Ht the intersection of Dale Street and Glencrest Drive. This was in response to a request for street lighting made by William Stoddard, 838 Dale Street. Clv,,. DEFENSE DI~ECTC~: A letter was received by the Board from new Civil Defense Director, Ro!a~d Korb, onclosing an in- ventory of e~uipment purchased in the past. Zt was accepted for further study. STATE DIviSI~ OF INDUSTRIAL ACCIDBITS. A letter received from the above-named was referred to To~m Treasurer, James Maker, for further study. G.L. EEGTG~AL VOCATIGIAL 'TEC~:L H.S.DZSTRIC CC~NITTEE: Reports of the 18th and 19th meetings held by the above-named was received for study and f~l~g. FAIR RO~S~NG LAW: Copy of the above was received from the Attorney Generalts ~ffice and the Board requested that additional Copies be sent for and given to Tc~m Clerk's office for distribution. Copy to be sent to local Housing Authority. · BOST~ &.NAINE R.R.: 'Matter of communication was referred ~o the Highway Dept. TG~N. C~NSEL:: A letter enclosing dee~ of land given to to~n for new school by George.Giragosian stated it had been duly, recorded and sent to us for filing. SCHOGL GE~2D~CROSSiNG APPOiNTN~NTS: Appointments of school crossing guards were made and signed by Selectmen to be ready for'opening day of school. The School Guards ere: Winifred Montanaro,Mary W~nward, Theresa Morin, Edith Hayes, ~ane~ 2~le, Nary Hanover, with Theresa Towne, Florence Bush, and Elaine Barrassa, substi- tute,,crossing guards. Highway approximately 52,000 gallons of gasoline. Mr. Duffy, Public Works, advised;by a representative of the Gulf Oil CO,,~mny that~this procedure wonld save the town.a siderable sum, in the vicinity of $2,000. The meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date at 4:45 p.m. to substitute for regul- ar meeting date which would fall on the Labor's'Day H~l~day. Selectmen Fred P. Oakes and Chairman William A. Finneran, were present, Selectman Raymond Broadhead was on vacation. TREE REMOVAL HEAPING: Petition for a removal of a tree at the corner of Nagnolia Drive and Nain Street wa~ voted in the affirmative by the Board. Petitions to excavate on Mass. Ave. and Niddlesex Street and Narbleridge Road were voted favor- ably by the Board.
