The ~oard of Selectmen held their regular meeting on Monday evening, September 16, 1963 with the following members present: William A. Finneran, Chairman; Fred P. Oakes and Raymond Broadhead. Chosen for Jury duty was Juseph H. Giard, 263 Marbleridge Road, a truck driver, for Superior Civil Oourt at Salem for October 7. 1963. JOINT POLE LOCATIONS: A hearing was set for September 30th. at 7:30 P.M. for pole locations on Marbleridge Rd. on petition of N.E. Tel. & Tel. Co. and Mass. Electric Co. POLE RE-LOCATIONS: Petitions of Mass. Electric Company and N.E. Tel. & Tel. 0o. for Joint pole re-locations at Salem Street and Marbleridge Road, were approved unanimously by the Board. LAWEENCE GAS CC~PAN~.~ Petitions to excavate at Colgate corner Osgood Street, 429 Main Street and Morris Street, were unanimously approved by the Board. STREET LIGHT REQUEST: The Board voted to,request a survey for increased street lighting in the vicinity of 28 Middlesex Street, at the request of Marie Trovato. SARCIONE HOUSE MOVING: 1% was unable to contact John Lestem, Hudson, N. H., house mover for Mrs. Sarcione in time for the meeting. Mr. Broadhead suggested that the board look into the possibility of requiring performance bond posting by house movers in future cases. This would give the Board something concrete with which to insist that time limit provisions be met. STATE DEPT. OF PUBLIC WORKS: A contract was received from the State Department of Public Werks for Chapter 90 maintenance work on Main Street. This work was completed last week. G.L. REGIONAL ~OCATIONAL TEC~. H.S. DISTRICT ¢O~IITTEE: A request for verification of notification of the intent to borrow $103,O00 for the vocational school committee was received and approved by the Board. Report of the minutes of their September 10th meeting were received for study and filing. POST #219 AMELTC~ LEGIONs An invitation to attend the Joint installation of officers of the local Legion post and auxiliary unit on Monday, September 23rd was received. The Board will make every effort to attend. HIGHWAY DEPT. REPAIR BILL: Mr. Oaken made a motion to send voucher No. 5070 of Bill's Auto Service back to the Highway Dept. for further transfer to Mr. Arsenault so that they may clarify the billing by naming the parts used rather than listing by code number as .was .done. Tha~e are tc be returned to the Selectmen by nex~ Monday so that action can be taken. The bill was t_he amount of $719.50, for repairs to a 3/4 ton truck used by//~lter Stamp, department Mr. ~oadhead. seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Hr. Finneran further suggested to ask the Highway Dept. to consid er the possibility of taking the money out of General Maintenance rather than Snow Removal, so that the snow removal account would remain intact and be used for the purpose for which it was intended. This was also voted unanimously. GAS INSPECTOR: Mitchell Boo,man, Gas Inspector appeared before the Board to report that alot of work was being done without the necessary permits.
