Alice M. Letarte, Secretary Clerk The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with Selectman William A. Finneran and Ch~!~aen Dully present, selectman Arthur P. Co. PETITIC~: A petition from the Mass. T.TRRARy BOOK INSURANCE: A letter was received from Richard Lafond Insurance Agency re value of Library books. He stated the Librarian, Mrs. King, advised him that the figures are accurate and ~hat the books do not depreciate in value and that, in the event of loss, the replacement value of a book, regardless of its age, would probably be higher now that the original cost. A letter from Mrs. King to the Board advised that two insurance claims had been filed by the Library.....April il, 1964 (Fire Damage-$46.OO) and February 24, 1969 (Breaking & entering.. $246.00) Mrs. King also enclosed a copy of the inventory of equipment and Book Stock. A letter was sent by George W~]$on, Dzrector of Pub.lfc Welfare, in regard to an educational aid request from Mrs. Martha Taylor of Ellis Ct. who ~rzshed to go to a secretarial school to in- crease her earning power as a secretary. He stated that the TOWn had at its disposal, The Stone Fund which was specifically allocated for educatiensl purposes and that these funds could be used to further Mrs. Taylor's s]d11~ as s~wms a most ~orthy person and needed help. Dully requested that the Secretary, Mrs. Letarte, investigate the status of the "stone Fund" and who administrated the fund.
