The regular meeting scheduled for this date was held but most of the Agenda was tabled be- caase only one member of the Board was presen% Chairman Finneran. Selectman Arthur p. Kirk wasqabsent because of illness and Selectman William B. Dully, Jr., was absent because of other committments. POLICE CAR BIDS: Chairman Finneran, in the presence of the Board's Secretary, Alice Letarte, and the Town Re- porter~ Jerry Rosen, opened the three police car bids received as per scheduled a~ 7:30 P.M. Shawsheen Ford Motors submitted a net price for three cars in the amount of $6.797.00. Best Buick Inc. submitted a net price for three cars in the amount of $ 6749.41. Woodworth Motors, Inc. submitted a ne%.price for three cars in the amount of $ 6,5%6.78. The bids were taken under advisement, Chairman Finneran announced, ko check the specifications and until a full Board could be present to vote on the bids. SALEM STREE2 R~3ONSTRUCTION-CPL~P~TER 90: Chairman Finneran announced April 13, 1970, at 7:30 P.M. a meeting would be held at the Fire Station rooms with the Salem Street abutters, County Engineer, James Carlin and Mike Lespasio, DPW Engineer, to discuss the proposed Salem Stree~ reconstruction for this year. The date was made tentative pending the availabilty of Mr. Carlin and Mr. Lespasio. Fourteen abutters will TELEGRAM-RE PATRIOTmS TEAM: be notified. Avenue requested once again by the Board. coMMENDATIoN: A letter of high commendation for the'efforts of ToWnAccoun~ant, David Roche, was sen~ by the Capital OutLay Committee. They stated Mr. Roche's many hours of effort spent in collecting and summarizing data for evaluation and analysis by the committee was invaluable ~o them in preparing their report. SPECIAL TOk~ COUNSEL: Attorney Anthony J. Randazzo was appointed by the Board to represent the assessor's tax appea~ in appellate court, upon advice of Town Counsel, Arnold H. Salisbury. · WAU]~RLY 'RCAD: Waverly road residents and a member of a trucking firm appeared to inquire about the s~atus of the restriction. Chairman Finneran advised that word was still to come from the Mass. Dept. Public Works on the ma~er. He expected to hear their decision some time this week. On Wednesday, March 25, representatives of the State Department of Public Works, Town officia3 ami representatives of Waverly Rd. and the trucking industry met to make a field inspection the existing Marston Street ~ruck turn-a-round. A proposal, to construct a direct approach to the southbound ramp a Marston Street was made at this meeting which will be studied by the traffic engineers, the results of which will be sen~ to the Board of Selectmen.
