Finneran present. Mr. Dully was absent because of other co~nittm~ Donald Dufresne, 547 Mass. Ave. and Thomas Driscoll, 34 Second Street were drawn for Jury duty for the September 14 sitting, at Salem, by Selectman Arthur P. Kirk. T. BLDG. F~MODELLING BIDS: At 8:00 p.m. bids were opened for the above-named matter. The following bids were taken under advisement:JJ Sirois, Ins.-$4940 .... Charles Foster-S5525.00 - Pond Construction Co. · $5550...N.F. Nicetta & Son, Inc...$6675 ..... O.E. Steinert & Co., $6540 .... Hinkley Homes, Inc. $7250 ...... ~onal Corp., $12,440. Selectman Kirk made motion to take bids under advisement which was seconded by Chairman Finnneran. LAWRENCE--NORTH A;~DOVER BOUNDARY LINE: ANDOVER _ NORTH ANDOVER LINE: Copies of letters re the above-named matter advised the Board that legislation on the line was still pending. A letter from Andover Town Clerk invited the Board to perambulate the Andover-North Andover 5~nds on Saturday, October t7, at 9 A.M. The board so voted. STREET LIGHTS: The Board approved requests for street light surveys on Rt. ll4, intersection of Berry St. Vicinity of 91 Bostnu Street and on Autran Avenue, a dead-end street. Still tabled were surveys received for Johnson and Salem Streets for further investigation by Selectman Kirk. The Board voted approval of Upland Stree~ survey and requested a street light be installed on same. POLE LOCATIONS: Apetition to locate a joint pole on Moody Street was set for a hearing on Aug.31, 1970 A petition to relocate a joint pole on Beacon Hill Blvd. was approved by the Board. GAS EXCAVATION: Acting Chief Sgt. Donnelly stated a police officer was required if the excavations on Peters Stree~ interfered with the 'flow of traffic. Petition to excavate on Tyler Rd. was approved by the Board. Mass. Ave. petition was by- passed and a letter was requested to be sent to the Gas Company to advise that all petitions to excavate for gas services in North Andover must be sent on regular forms. CHAPTER ( ) 90 Contract: Chapter 90 Contra~t 25761 for Work on Main and Sutton Streets was received by the Board. NOTICES & INVITATIONS EEIVED: Gr. Law. Leg. Council for Older Americans regional meeting, Aug 19- Voc School. Letter of appreciation from Bresnaham softball team's Coach. Sent copy to W. McEvoy. Workmen's Compensation Coverage report from R. Lafond. Tabled for further study. Memorandum on Criminal Justice. Referred to Chief Lawlor.. Minutes of Voc School Meeting. Notice of local Warning Program from Mass. Civil Defense Agcy. Playground Season's Report from Bill McEvoy. The Board voted to send the Recreational a letter of appreciation and congratulation on the fine program prepared and enjoyed by many ~children this summer. BRIDGES: Highway Surveyor submitted a report on the Hiverwlew & Farnum Street bridges as requested by Mr. Kirk~':.~The repor~ s~ated that the Farnum St. bridge had been closed anda portion of the Riverview St. bridge had been declared unsafe and closed to traffic. LICENSING COMMISSIONERS: The Board received an anunal license authorization from ABC. It advised the Board that 18 all alcoholic licenses were allowed for the Town. Veteran's liquor license need not be included in the number ~11ocated. Three package store, all~a~coh,o,lic, we allowed.% August 21, 1970. A petition to install one pole (remove one pole) on Peters Street· approx~tely 330 feet west of Rt. 125 was approved by Selectmen Arthur P. Kirk and William A. Finneran. No hearing was necessary.
