Duffy, Jr. and Chairman Arthur P. Kirk presiding. POLICE CA~ BIDS: Three bids were submitted in response to the Board's ad for bids on two, new Police Cars. Taken under advisement for specification check by Chief Lawlor were Shawsheen Motor Mart, Inc. bid - $5094.00 .... Woodworth Motors, Inc....$5338.00 and Manzi Auto Sales, Inc. with the low bid of $4693.68. The next day, the Board consulted with the Chief'and voted to amend the vote and award the contract to the lowest bidder, Manzi Auto Sales, Inc .... $4693.68. The three bidders were so notified, by letter, and thanked for submitting the bids. STREET LIGHT REQUEST: The Board voted to request a survey for a larger street light on pole 3417-2-46, vicinity of 546 .Foster Street, residence of Mrs. Anthony Funari, to replace small, old fashion light. POLE RELOCATION: The Board approved a Joint pole relocation on Salem Street, no hearing necessary, 1~ poles replace 12 poles. NOTICES RECEIVED: .Information from Town Accountant re Reserve and Stabilization Fund for files. Certificate of Incorporation for member of Greater Lawrence Community Drug Council, Inc. Chief Lawlor submitted his affirmative recomnendation on Member, Judge Bacigalupo, and the Board's approval was sent to the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Essex County Selectmen's Association Spring Meeting, Castle Hill, Ipswich, April 24th. Bulletin from town of Wayland forwarded to Planning. Board and Conservation Commission. Information from Town'Counsel re progress of Lawrence-North Andover Boundary line. Copy for files of letter to Highway Surveyor from Davis & Furber re repair of cement sidewalks. Acknowledgement from Mass. League of Cities & Towns for "dues" payment. BLUE CROSS-BLUESHIELD: The.Board voted to meet with Blue Cross-Blue Shield representative, James McCabe, on Monday, April 26, time to be confirmed at a later date. Mr. McCabe verbally~agreed via telephone. TOWN 'BUILDING: The Boar vote~ to have Town Clerk advertise for bids for town building roof repairs and the necessary work to be done on town building ~o be given to John Cyr Co., approximate cost of $ .7o.oo. SCHOOL CONMITTEE~PPLICATION: TheBoard voted to send a letter of acknowledgement to Mrs. Baldwin who aubmitted application .for pending~vacancy on the School Committee and to forward same to School Committee. GOOD FRIDAY: TheBoard voted to post a notice advising that, "In accordance with past practice, the Town Building will be closed on Good Friday, at 12:00 Noon, April 9, 1971." INDEN~ITY BONDS: The Board voted to approve the follo~dng amounts of indemnity bonds: Treasurcr, James Maker, $72,100.00 .... Tax Collector, James Dewhirst, $71,700.O0...andToxm Clerk, John J. POLE RELOCATION: The Board approved a petition for a Joint pole relocation on Peters St.(! pole, remove 1 pole ) No hearing necessary. COMPLAINT: Mrs. DiCarlo, 15 Commonwealth Avenue and 16 other residents sen~ a letter to the Board pro- te~ing condition of abutting property. The complaint was referred to the Building Inspector for~investigation and report.
