Selectmen voted to send letter suggesting meeting on Sept. 16, at 8 P.M. Public Works Meeting, Parker House, Boston, B. Sullivan to attend. ADVISORY BOARD: Meeting set up with Advisory Board on Sept. 24 to discuss town building survey expenses until August 31. ' Postponed VETERANS'S APPOINTMENT: The Selectmen appointed Andrew Voris, Salem Street, to serve as Veterans Agent for the towns of North Andover and Boxford. Commissioner Collotos, State Veterans Services, will be so notified The Selectmen had interviewed 8 applicants. Mr. Voris, retired from Federal service, seemed to be the most qualified. He will resume his duties immediately. Vote was by ballot. First ballot Board voted for Joseph Willis, Andrew Voris and William Emmett. Second ballot was~two for Voris and one for Willis. LICENSING COMMISSIONERS: Reouest receive for renewal of 2 cab license from Edward Provissia at 1581 Os~ood St. Mr. Provissia reauested one of the cab licenses be ~ranted to his son, Joseph Provissta, to be used at the rear of Ftnneran's Drug Store, 129 Main St~ Board voted to set hearing for request on August 30, ht 8 P.M. Abutters will be so notified. PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT ACT: Several letters redeived from 'Ted Kennedy and Mike Harrington re the above-named Act. It seems that' the town is eligible to receive 5 million dollars in aid for worthwhile projects. Brian Sullivan reported on the Act and it was decided to have himsend notices out to various depts, equesting they submit projects immediately to be sent in:to Wm. Ccady, and Selectmen Thomas J. McEvoy, Acting Chairman. Mr. Guthriewas absent due to important commitment elsewhere. ' STEEE~ LIGHTING: James Brimicombe, electric company, met with the Selectmen to 'discuss replacing present so- c~ed, '~oug,, lights to an increased lumen light and the cost. It was agreed that the proposal would he discussed at a working meeting in late September. }~r. Brimicembe ~ attend. ELECT .~IC CON~JITS: Petition to ins*m~ electric conduits on Boston Rd. set for hearing, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. LAW.~C E-N ~A. LAND: A meeting was set up for September 16, 1976, at 7:00 P.M. with Iawrence City officials to discuss their request to buy land owned by the town for the construction of their new High School. CE~A AGRE~PENT: The two-man Board authorized Chairm~u Guthrie to sign agreement between CETA Manpower Program and the town re CE~A employees working for North Andover...rules and regulations. APPOiNTMeNTS: The Board voted to have town repor~es announce in town's notes that a vacancy emisted in the Board of Appeals...an alternate member to be appointed.
