He stated that our proposed site has all the criteria, other than access, which could be overcome by the construction of a bridge across the Merrimack ~iver from Rte. 495. Daring the discussion, it was voted that Brian Sullivan be appointed to the Solid Waste Committee, that an ADHoc Committeed be formed, that the Conservation Committee be contacted and involved and that an Article be placed in the warrant of the annual Town Meeting. Mr. Cyr stated the Bureau of Solid Waste intended to use the Missile Site area for residue dumping and that ~s in the town's favor for being considered as the host community. Mr. Cyr also stated that if the town was contracted to be the host community, it would bring a million dollars revenue, annually, to the town. Motion was made that Brian, Bud Cry and Ed Scanlon draw up a letter to be sent to the North East Solid Waste Committee containing our intentions. PUBLIC WOBKS: Letter from Public Works advised the Board that they had voted to withdraw their Article f~r the N~vember 23rd special town meeting. They felt that the Article would be more properly placed before the voters at the Annual Town Meeting where a greater number of people would be present. ~CEIVED: Notice of meeting, 12/1/76, Bishop's Restaurant, Gr. Letter from Legal Police Advisor, Jay Willis, re change in Court procedure. ~Letter from Community Teamwork, Inc. re Housing Assistant Payments Program. Letter from MVPC re bicycle paths. Letter from Nation Association of Housing and Redevelopment. Letter re Overpass Dedidcation. Brian to contact Mrs. ~ck when time is convenient. Voted to send letters to all departments to submit cash before the end of the year to T.Tres~ B. SULLIVAN'S REPOE~: Reported that the EDA had set the deadline for receiving applications at their PA office as December 3rd. Town will be able to get their application in before the deadline. $~O in applications have been eubmitted in the Merrimack Valley alone, major part from Lawrence increasing the competition in this labor area. Check received today for the first two quarters of Title II funding in the amount of $29,3~5. Noney has to be appropriated at the nex~t town meeting. Coady, Thomas J. McEvoy with Chairman Joseph A. Guthrie presiding. The . ' minutes and warrant were approved as submitted. FUEL OIL BIDS: Bids were received from J. A. Leone & Sons, Inc., Cyr Oil Co. and Glendale Morton Co. The bids were taken under consideration and ~ be determined at nex~ meeting, Dec. 6. HEARING: ApProved: petition to install 2 poles ( remove 1 pole) on Winter Street. ~HOMAS MOFEO. RD: Letter from Tom Leavitt advised the Board that the actual work Mofford is performing as an Assistant Archivist is under the North Andover Historical Commission and he should be in any health insurance or cost of living raise given to town employees. An occupational change form will be sent to CETA for the 5% raise. Letter from Methuen Town Adm. requesting attendance at meeting, Dec. 8. to Chief Lawlor. Brian will attend. RESF~RVE POLICEM~: Letter received from Chief Lawlor requesting the Selectme~ to send in requisition for a certi- fied list to appoint seven Reserve Policemen. It was so voted.
