Mr. McEvoy stated that plastic base had been ordered. Also suggested and discussed was night s~ating a~ Stevens Pond and Ray's Pond ~lth the proper lighting. BE~XOVER-FARR: A letter from J. Borkover was received re Ge6rge Farr's Notice of Intent and contained re- minders of the conditions that were listed on the State's approval. A copy of theletter was voted by the Board to be sent to Mr. Farr. GAS EXCAVATION: A petition to excavate on 79 Johnson Street to repair a gas main was approved by the Board. POLE & WIRE LOCATION: The Board set a hearing for a .po. le and wirelocation petition on Summer St., January 3, 1972. STREET LIG~ING SURVEY: The Board tabled a street light survey for 998 Salem Street until 1972 budget approved. PLANNING BOARD ARTICLES: The Planning Board requested more time to prepare their zoning articles for the Town Warrant. The Board voted to grant additional time, as requested, and set the date for January 22. REYNOLD'S LAND TAKING SUBJECT MATTER: Chairman Kirk reported to the Board that the deed and plan would be drawn up by Atty. Willis, Mrs. Reynold's lawyer which would be reviewed by T own Counsel. CO~SSION: letter sent to Selectman .Joseph A. Guthrie from Congressman Narrington enclosed a copy of a sent to Mr. Harrington from the Dept. of Health, Education, and We'_fare. ~ The letter that, unfortunately, the North Andover Youth Program is ineligible for funding as it is set up. Recommended changes were listed in the department's letter and Mr. Harrington ~sted it might be helpful to meet with appropriate officials at HEW; that his secretary, Schuker, would set up the proposed meeting. EEA- SECTION 6: Selectman Guthrie announced that North Andover could hire a Community Coordinator to work with the Gr. Lawrence Drug Council. Jack Erie was directed to meet with the Drug Council 6n applications received for the position. The appointment will be made in a week. NSING COMMISSIONERS: Approved: Ail renewals: Common Victualer: Pewter Pot Muffin House, Carroll's Restaurant. Class II; Turnpike Texaco Service Station, Class III; Bob's Auto Parts. An application to renewa Class II license for George Far~s was tabled re investigation of his use of said license. Letter received with notice of transfer of stock of ~he Barn Door, 1140 Osgood St. from Samuel Bellino, deceased, to his widow, Gloria Bellino. The matter was tabled until determined transfer was in proper form. Rules and Regulations received from ABC re Christmas and New Year's holidays. The Board vot~i that establishments serving liquor could remain open until 2 A.M. in New Year's Eve as previously vot ed in past years. TOWN BUILDING CLOSING: The Board made a note that the town building would be closed on Friday, December 31st, as the holiday (New Year's) fell on Saturday, a paid holiday. Alice ~. Duffy, Jr., With Chairman A. P. Kirk presiding. The warrantwas approved as submitted. CONMUNITY D~JG COORDINATOR: The Board voted to advertise for applicants to fill the Community Coordinator position in the Lawrence E~_gle Tribune, January ~,6,7. POLE HEARING: A petition for a pole and wire location on Summer Street was approved by the Board. A hearing was set for January 17, 1972 on a pole and wire location petition on Andover Street. CONFIEMATION OF APPOINTMENT: Alfred Wholley was appointed to the positm,n of Tree Care and Pest Control Trainee, upon recOm- mendation of the Tree Warden. The appointment was confirmed at this meeting. BILL PAYMENTS: Notice from Town Accountant that January 10, 1972 was deadline for submitting of 1971 bills.
