Selectman Guthrie remarked it was refrosking to receive a co~=aendation instead of a c~plaint. Notice of hearing re electric rates on April 2, 100 Cambridge St., Boston, 10 A.M. ~irl Scout Proclamation which was read by the Chairman. 6irl Scouts and their leaders stayed briefly to observe-how a Selectmen's meeting was conducted. RESIGNATION: A letter of resignation received from Ted Peters who resigned as a member of the Town Charter Study Committee. The Board veted to accept the resignation with regret and to send a letter of thanks and appreciation to 1~. Peters and the other members of the S~udy Co~Lttee. They will also be advised that, due to the town vote which indicated citizens do not want any changes, the Town Charter Study Cou,,.~ttee is abolished as of this date. MODULAR HOME: A letter from the B~lding Inspector contained an application for the installation of a modu2ar home for Mrs. Mary Salerno om a lot on Glen~od St. The Board voted to . approve the application and authorized the Chairman to send a letter of confirmation to Mr. Foster. PESATA COMPIAI~: A copy of a report from the Building T-.~pector on the Pesata complaint was voted, to be sent to Mr. Pesata. ~.lice 1~. ?.etarte, Secretary .~-m~,~-~.~~~~ Clerk MARCH 1974 The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with all members present, Selectmen Joseph A. Guthrie, John F. Coady ~rtth Chairman John P. Kirk presiding. Margaret Coucannon, Director of the Registry, met informally with the Selectmen to discuss town gove~:~,.~-nt of North Andover ~a other related subjects. JUROR: Francis A. Lerdan, 12 Kingston Street, was drawn for jury duty at Newburyport for the April 16th Sitting. GAS EICAVAT~..0NS: Approved: Petitions to excavate on Church St., May St., and Rt. 114 to inst,l! gas services. P~CEIVED: Letter from DI~ re "Cutback Asphalts.,, Copies voted to be sent tO H. Board voted to send request to Director of Accounts for town accounting, (annual) Letter of protest from ~rk Boad abuters re development of Douglas Drive and ~ark Rd. West. Selectmen voted to send copies to the Planning Board, Pub2ic Works, ~ding Inspector, Board of Mealth and the Highway Dept. Selectman Guthrie advised the Board that a letter had been sent to ~ichard Eesse~ listing five public service positions in the town of North Andover that the Selectmen ~uld like filled under the "Comprehensive ~mplo2ment and Training Act of 1~73." They are Clerk-Secretary, Assistant Mechanic, P~-~gram Coordinator, Building Custodian and Laborer. TO~N COUNSEL APPOIJ~I~NT: Selectman Guthrie reminded the Board that the position of Town Counsel should be advertised before reappointment is made. After discussion, they voted to appoint said Town Counsel after Town l~eeting, April 27, 1974. TRAFFIC SIGN: As requested, the Board voted to authorize Chief Lawlor to have a stga,"Go Slow-Deaf Child" installed on Court Street. RESIGNATION: The Board received, ~rlth regret, letter of resignation as a member of the N. A. Civic Holiday Celebration Committee from Barry R~mack.
