Guthrie with Chairman John P. Kirk presiding. The minutes and warrant were approved as submitted. JURORS DRAWN: The following persons were drawn for Jury Duty on October 7, 197~, at Salem Superior Court~ Josepn C. Faro, 700 Niddleton Rd. - Merinda Caliento, 16 Meadow Land and Charles A. Wilson, 20 Pembroke Rd. CEE2IFICATE OF INCORPORATION: Two references received from Chief Lawlor on members of the American Association of Medical Staffs of Private Hospitals and the Church of Christ in Msthuen. Selectmen approved. GAS EXCAVATION: The Board approved petition of Lawrence Gas Company to excavate on Brentwood Circle to in- stall a gas service. APPOINTNENTS: Upon request of William Kent, ~hO has installed a 100 ton scele in his plant, the Board appointed Will,am Kent, Jr., Gerald Kent and Fobert Kent, Public Weighers. The Board referred the name of Joan Thompson, 1725 Gr. Pond Rd. to the Bicentennial Commis- sion for their recommendations on Ms. Thompson as a member of their commission. PLANNING BOARD: The Board received for their files a letter from the Planning Board containing their with- drawal of their request for a Special Town Meeting regarding the Scenic Road for Great Pond Road. ANNUAL GASOLINE CONTRACT: r The Board referred the town's annual gasoline contract, submitted by Gulf Oil Co., to To~n Counsel for his appreval. Due to recent legislation, companies cannot accept new customers and must serve customers they have served since 1972. C~lf Oil Co. has served the town of North Andover since 1972 and, according to requested procedure, submitted the contract for delivery of gasoline to town departments for the ensuing year. The Board authorized the Chairman to execute the contract as soon as T own Counsel advises. PERINI CORPORATION: The Board v~ted to send letter to Building Inspector requesting a progress report by their next meeting, Sept. 23, on the construction of the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District pro- Ject by the Perini Corporation. BICENTENNIAL COmmISSION APPLICATION: The Chairman of the Board, John P. Kirk, signed the necessary Bicentennial Community Application Form. This ~ill officially give the town of North Andover recognition as a Bicentennial Cmmm~tty making the town eligible for community and goveA-~=.mnt support. MASSACHUSETTS LEAGUE OF CITIES & TO~NS: The Board voted not to renew the town's membership in the above-named League at this time. Amount of dues, $636.00. A letter will be sent League advising of this anticn. RECEIVED: Regional Transit Authority Status Report. Classification and minimum wage rates to be paid to workers on Town Garage project sent by Department of Labor and Industries. Copy given to Building w.~pector. (Meeting) Hearing: Kenneth Hudson Bus Lines - Friday, Sept. 20, State ~ouse, Boston. J. Kirk will try to attend. LICE~ING COMMISSIONERS: The Board voted to grant permission to the McGovern Associates to hold their ann,~l outing at the Town Faro Picnic Area and issued them a 1-day Wine & Malt Beverage license for September 22 - rain date, September 29, Chief Lawlor and ~Chi~f Daw will ~be~ so notified.
