HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-11-25 Board of Selectmen Minutes~OVE~EH 25 1974 The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with Selectman John F. Coady present with Selectman Joseph A. Guthrie presiding. ' Chairman Kirk was held up and appeared after the meeting. The w~rrant and minutes were approved as submitted. OFF STREET PARKING BAN: The Board voted to advertise the all-night parking ban to become effective at midnite on December 1, 1974 throughout the months of January, February, March and April or until the Board lifts the ban. The ban will be lifter on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31. STEVENS STREET: The Board granted approval of the removal of Pole $631 on Stevens St. with the~provision that Millpond Estates will erect a light of equal Lumens on their property approximately across the street from Pole $631. PAEKER & HEMIDCK STREETS: Letter from Atty. Russell L. Karl requested the possible posting of speed limits on Parker and Hemlock Streets. Letter voted to be sent to Chief Lawlor for his recommendations on this request. Copy to Atty. Karl. SUTTON ST. SPEED SIGh~: Letter from Town Counsel advised the Selectmen that they could not change speed signs on · Sutton Street unless approval receiw~. from the State DePt. of PubLic Works. Staff Asst. Joe Willis.will investigate and purs=~ the matter with the District Highway Engineer, J. D ~'Angelo. STATE .~-D HIGHWAY PROGRAMS: Letter received from the DPW concerning the above-named matter. Copies were voted to' be sent to the F. ighway Surveyor, Public Works, Town Accountant, Town Treasurer and Advisory POLE REPLACEMENT: Petition approved to replace 1 pole on Hewitt'Ave. No hearing necessary.' GAS EXCAVATIONS: Notice received of gas excavations on Banman Drive and Chicke~ing Rd. RECEIVED: Invitation from the League of Women Voters of Boston. Letter re State Bldg. Code. Minutes of the Solid Waste Committee meeting. AIEPOE~: Letter from E. Keisling, Jr. re Airport nuisances. FrsmkTrombly present at the meeting was instructed to request.a letter from the Airport Commission for a status report on the com- plaints. DOG COMPLAINT: Donald Stewart, Prospect St., appeared before .the Board complaining that dogs were chasing his motorcycle, four dogs in particular, causing near accidents. The Board stated that .they would request the Dog;Officer, Leonard Degnan~ to investigate and submit a. report, in to the Board. TOWN G~RAGE: The ~T, .own Garage Facility Committee reported to the Board of Selectmen and .recommended.to Board that a Special Town Neeting b~ held to .appropriate additional money for the building of the town garage. ~he Board will decide on,the request at their meeting on December 2. LICENSinG COM~SSIONERS: HEARING: Application approved for licenet to store 10,000 additional galsJ gasoline on 1581 Osgood Street for .Cyr Oil Co. HEARING: Application of transfer'of Restaurant, Ail Alcoholic license from Hi-Spot Roland and Frances Langlois, Co-Owners to Ninety Nine North, Inc. (The 99 )'Charles Doe, Mgr. 267 Chickering Road. The application was approved subject to the payment of ~/12 the reg. fee. Transfer to be sent, certified mail, to ABC. Application for renewal will he as soon as transfer approved by the ABC.
