Board requested that copy of Town Counsel's letter be given to Mr. Farkas when he obtained his license. Letter for Out-Door Parking denial in that zone. Letarte, Secretary lark The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with all members present; Selectmen Joseph A. Outhrie, John F. ¢oady with Chairman John P. Kirk presiding. The ~arrant and minutes were approved as submitted. Michael Magri, 28 P~yal Crest Drive and Elsie B~lster, 173 Lin St. were drawn for Jury duty on January 27, 197~, at lawrence Superior Court. SOUTHERN ESSEX SOLID WASTE COUNCIL: ~.e_tt? from Nighway Surveyor advised the Board that, because of their present involvement with ~e uommittees (Solid Waste) of Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and Naverhill on the possibility of a Gr. Lawrence Solid Waste facility, it would not Be .feasible at this time to consider member- ship in the SESWC. However, the Board voted a letter be sent to the Director, Philip Dunkel- Barger, that the town was interested in pursuing all Possibilities that prese~ the Best solution to our future rubbish problems and they would appreciate being advised of the SESI~C activities. INDUSTRI&L DEVELOPMENT BOND LAW: Letter Sent to Hoger Jewett, Director, copy to Ted Phelan, that the Selec~nsn~el~ meet to discuss the new municipal industrial development bond law after a Selectmem's meeting on January 20 or 2?th at 8:30 p.m. BE2IRE~ENT BOARD: Letter received from Nanshester, Nass. Board of Selectmen advising they heartily endorsed J. Dewhirst for election'to the Essex County Retirement Board. GRAVES REG. OFFICER RESIGNATION: Letter from James Sweensy advised the Board that he was resigning as Graves Registration Officer, effective December 31, ~974. The Board voted to send him a lette~, of thanks and aPpreciation for his work.in that office. Board also directed a letter be sent to the VFW and American Legion asking for any reco~aendations to fill vacancy. CENSUS DIRECTOR: Letter received from Pael Ouzzi, Sec.-Elect re the State Census. Board voted to send reply to Mr. Guzzi advising him that T own Clerk, John J. Lyons, if the Town's Census Director. SAI~ STF~ET LAND-TAKING: Letter from James Carlin, County Engineer, listed abutters and ameunt:,of land necessary to be ~aken for the Salem Street reconstruction. Board voted to advise Mr. Carlin to take any action, forthwith, that was necessary for said land-tahing and~that the money to be paid to the abutters was available in the town treasury. Mr. Willis and Mr. Cyr would contact Mr. Carlin. JAYCEES SNOWMOBILE PERMIT: Letter from Jaycees requested the Selectmen to write to Nary T. Concannon, Div. of Narine & Recreational Vehicles, Dep$. of Public Safety, for a permit to hold Sn~aoBile ~aces on Stevens Pond on Saturday, February 8, 1~7~, from 12 p.m. to ~ p.m. The Board so voted.
