Board voted to NOTICE OF INTENT - WAVERLY RD. CONSTRNCTION: Board received copy of Notice of Intent filed with the Division of Waterways in connection with the proposed construction of 230 homes off Waverly Road. The Board voted to send to Town Counsel for his review and co~ents. PRECINCT IV VOTING AREA: Copy of letter to Town Clerk from Seth Hudak received~ by the Board. Letter recommended that the above-named voting area be transferred from the Kittredge School to the Middle School which would provide more space and less inconvenience. The Board referred the matter to the Board of Registrars requesting that they make an analysis of ~the situation in an objective manner and submit their reco~uendations to the Selectmen. RECEIVED: Letter, questionaire enclosed, received from the Dept. of Biucation. Chairman Coady was designated to fill out questionaire. Notice of affirmative vote on retiree's insurance from Town Clerk. Letters to go to the town treasurer and town accountant requesting they take the necessary steps to implement the affirmative vote. Bill from Boston & Maine Railroad. Referred to Town Counsel. C07.T.W. CTi~E BA~AINING - TOWN EMPLOYEES IN UNIONS: Letter from Town Counsel stated that "Pursuant to our conversation of yesterday morning, it is my suggestion that any contract which is finally concluded between the Town ~8 any employee unit, contain the provision that the unit relies~ in the matter of the compensa- tion to be paid to its membere~ solely upon the terms of the contrac.t~ and that the acting for and in behalf of all its m~mbers~ specificall~ and expressl~ waives the right of any employee to rely upon any provision of the Personnel B~-Law of the Town~ as. it may now exist or as it ma~ hereafter be amended~ which is ~o andy extent inconsistent ~rlth the ~rlth the provisions of the contract. The Board voted to send letter to Chief Lawlor for a meeting with him to discuss the patrol= lng of Rt. ll4 between the hours of 7 to ~ a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. by local and state police. TOWN: BLDG. NOON OPENING: S~lectman NcEVoy expressed a suggestion that, for the convenience of the townspeople, esp- ecially those who work, that the town offices be open and maintained from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 P.M. without closing at noon. It was voted to send Memo to ~11 town departments to that effect. LICENSING CO~ISSIONERS: Hearing: Petition of John P. Thompson, 1725 Great Pond Bi. to store a 1941 Nercury car on ~s~rage is completed., Atty. for Joseph Sobel, an abutter, stated that J; Thompson had several junk cars stored on his property behind his home and Thompson had. promised to have them hauled away by Narch 1st but had not done so. Chief Lawlor stated that his dept. had responded to the complaint of Mr. Sobel and that Mr. Thompson had been given 30 days to re- move said cars; 30 days ex~ired on March 1, 1975. The Board voted to grant permission to Mr. Thompson that one 1941 Mercury car be allowed to be maintained on the premises at 1725 Great Pond Road providing thet:~the vehicle be screened from view. Permission will expire in 6 months. Letter to this effect will be sent to Chief Lawlor, J. Sobel and J. Thompson. BUTCHER BOY STEAK HOUSE, INC. Notice received, by letter from Atty. John Willis, that the liquor license and other licenses now held by Butcher Boy Steak House, Inc. are to be transferred to J.J.B. Corp., Ins, John J. Boyle, Nanager. The Board filed letter, in pending, until proper petitions for the transfer are received from the Butcher Boy Steak House, Inc. USE~ CAR LICENSE CLASS II: Application for renewal of Class II"license for Giard's Auto Service, 7 Hodges St. was approved by the Board.
