It seems childran are throwing acorns and rocks at the newly installed insulation, etc. The Selectmen instructed J. Willis to confer with Chief Lawlor requesting increased police vigilance in the early evenings and weekends to prevent further vandalism. J. Willis was requested, also, to contact Dick Lafond in re- gard to adequate insurance for the garage. Policy states that the responsibility for the garage is the town's. NOTICES P~DEIVED: Public Safety Conference, October 16, 8:30 A.M. to 12 Noon, Voc School. Gulf Oil Co. - 1 cent increase in all fuels. Trembly Bus Co. - Increase in fare to Boston - flat rate of $1.40 each way from N. Andover, Andover and Lawrence to become effective November l, 1~7% subject to the approval of the Dept. of Public Utilities. Essex Cry Courier - new publication listing ~11 County projects. SELECTN~N 'S MEESiNG: Nex~ meeting was voted to be on Tuesday, October 14, 1975, due to Columbus Day falling on regular meeting day, Mo~y, October 13. Posted on ~,11etin Board. ~ESSINA'S PA~XING LOT: ~r. Bud Cyr appeared before the Board to tell the Selectmen that Santo Messiua approved plan cf Highway Surveyor to strip and drass up area along Main Street where trees are. Asked for approval of the Selectmen. The Selectmen approved but requested Bud to have Messiua's con- sent, in writing. Nessina will buy material needed. DOI~5~IC MESSINA - 99 N0~H: D. F~ssina appeared before the Board once more complaining about ~tllegal parking in front of his property to go into the 99 North restaurant. He stated that 99 North owner had been most cooperative, erecting a fence and instructing his ~,~ployees to place trash in dumpster during the ~'~V instead of early morning hours. However, he stated the police dept. has not been able to discourage the illegal parking...in fact, never bothered giving them a ticke~. Chief La~cr had told him that the State should erect signs that said, '~o Parking-Oars will~ be towed away from this area." However, since it was a State Road, the Dept. of Public Works should put the signs up or give permission for such a sigh. The Selectmem authorized Chairman Ccady to contact Sargent Cronin of the State Police on the matter. ~r~wOE2 CONNISSION NEETING: Frank Trembly appeared before the Board requesting J. W~l~fs to attend important meetingr~f the Airport Commission. Mr. Trembly ~t~ be a town building facility meeting, Thursday, same night and wfll be unable to attend as the liaison officer. Mr. Trembly advised the Board theat another business, a flying school, wants to locate at the airport, ~uild a hangar and it would Just increase the noise nuisance and danger to N. A. residents. Until a control tower is erect- ?red, the Airport has all the business it can handle. The Selec%mea~so agreed.
